عن ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رضي الله عنه
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ
آخِرُ مَنْ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ رَجُلٌ يمشي على الصراط فَهْوَ يَمْشِي مَرَّةً وَيَكْبُو مَرَّةً وَتشْفَعُهُ النَّارُ مَرَّةً
فَإِذَا جَاوَزَهَا الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهَا فَقَالَ تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي نَجَّانِي مِنْكِ لَقَدْ أَعْطَانِي اللَّهُ شَيْئًا مَا أَعْطَاهُ أَحَدًا مِنْ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ
فَتُرْفَعُ لَهُ شَجَرَةٌ فَيَقُولُ أَيْ رَبِّ أَدْنِنِي مِنْ هَذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ فَلِأَسْتَظِلَّ بِظِلِّهَا وَأَشْرَبَ مِنْ مَائِهَا
فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ لَعَلِّي إِنَّ أَعْطَيْتُكَهَا سَأَلْتَنِي غَيْرَهَا فَيَقُولُ لَا يَا رَبِّ وَيُعَاهِدُهُ أَنْ لَا يَسْأَلَهُ غَيْرَهَا وَرَبُّهُ يَعْذِرُهُ لِأَنَّهُ يَرَى مَا لَا صَبْرَ لَهُ عَلَيْهِ فَيُدْنِيهِ مِنْهَا فَيَسْتَظِلُّ بِظِلِّهَا وَيَشْرَبُ مِنْ مَائِهَا
ثُمَّ تُرْفَعُ لَهُ شَجَرَةٌ هِيَ أَحْسَنُ مِنْ الْأُولَى فَيَقُولُ أَيْ رَبِّ أَدْنِنِي مِنْ هَذِهِ لِأَشْرَبَ مِنْ مَائِهَا وَأَسْتَظِلَّ بِظِلِّهَا لَا أَسْأَلُكَ غَيْرَهَا فَيَقُولُ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ أَلَمْ تُعَاهِدْنِي أَنْ لَا تَسْأَلَنِي غَيْرَهَا فَيَقُولُ لَعَلِّي إِنْ أَدْنَيْتُكَ مِنْهَا تَسْأَلُنِي غَيْرَهَا
فَيُعَاهِدُهُ أَنْ لَا يَسْأَلَهُ غَيْرَهَا وَرَبُّهُ يَعْذِرُهُ لِأَنَّهُ يَرَى مَا لَا صَبْرَ لَهُ عَلَيْهِ فَيُدْنِيهِ مِنْهَا فَيَسْتَظِلُّ بِظِلِّهَا وَيَشْرَبُ مِنْ مَائِهَا
ثُمَّ تُرْفَعُ لَهُ شَجَرَةٌ عِنْدَ بَابِ الْجَنَّةِ هِيَ أَحْسَنُ مِنْ الْأُولَيَيْنِ فَيَقُولُ أَيْ رَبِّ أَدْنِنِي مِنْ هَذِهِ لِأَسْتَظِلَّ بِظِلِّهَا وَأَشْرَبَ مِنْ مَائِهَا لَا أَسْأَلُكَ غَيْرَهَا فَيَقُولُ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ أَلَمْ تُعَاهِدْنِي أَنْ لَا تَسْأَلَنِي غَيْرَهَا قَالَ بَلَى يَا رَبِّ هَذِهِ لَا أَسْأَلُكَ غَيْرَهَا وَرَبُّهُ يَعْذِرُهُ لِأَنَّهُ يَرَى مَا لَا صَبْرَ لَهُ عَلَيْه
فَيُدْنِيهِ مِنْهَا فَإِذَا أَدْنَاهُ مِنْهَا سمع أَصْوَاتَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَقُولُ أَيْ رَبِّ أَدْخِلْنِيهَا فَيَقُولُ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ مَا يَعْرِينِي مِنْكَ"أي شيء يرضيك ويقطع السؤال بيني وبينك" أَيُرْضِيكَ أَنْ أُعْطِيَكَ الدُّنْيَا وَمِثْلَهَا مَعَهَا فيقول أي ربي أَتَسْتَهْزِئُ مِنِّي وَأَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ...
فَضَحِكَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَسْأَلُونِي مِمَّ أَضْحَكُ فَقَالُوا مِمَّ تَضْحَكُ قَالَ هَكَذَا ضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَلنا مِمَّ تَضْحَكُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ مِنْ ضِحْكِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ حِينَ قَالَ أَتَسْتَهْزِئُ مِنِّي وَأَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ ....فَيَقُولُ إِنِّي لَا أَسْتَهْزِئُ مِنْكَ وَلَكِنِّي عَلَى مَا أَشَاءُ قَادِرٌ..
Ibn Masoud (Allah pleased him) narrated that the Prophet (Peace be[englishtext] upon him) said: "The last one who will be rewarded Paradise is a one sticks to the path because he sticks once, stumbles another time, and the fire pleads for him in the other time. If he passed the fire, he will turn and say: ' Glory be to the One who saved me from you, Allah granted me something that was neither granted for the former people nor the later ones. Then a tree will be raised for him, so he will say ' O Allah, let me be near this tree to stay in its shadow and to drink from its water. Allah the Majesty will say: ' O son of Adam, if I may give it to you, you will ask me for another one.' But this one will say: ' Allah, I will never do that ', and he will promise Him that he will never do that. Allah will pardon him because He knows that this one cannot be patient, so Allah will let him near the tree to be under the shadow of it and to drink from its water. After that, a better tree than the first one will be raised for him; therefore, he will say: ' O Allah, let me be near this tree to stay in its shadow and to drink from its water, and I will never ask for another one again. Allah will say : ' O son of Adam , ' have not you promised Me not to ask for another one ?' , he will say : O Allah , I will never ask you for another one again .' Allah will pardon him because He knows that this one cannot be patient. Later , a tree, which is better than the formers , will be raised for him in front of the Paradise's door; therefore , he will say : ' O Allah let me be near this tree to stay in its shadow and to drink from its water , and I will never ask for another one again . Allah will say : ' O son of Adam , ' have not you promised Me not to ask for another one ?' , he will say : O Allah , I will never ask you for another one again .' Allah will pardon him because He knows that this one cannot be patient. Allah will let him so near, and when he will be there, he will hear the dwellers' voices of the Paradise; therefore, he will say: ' O Allah let me be in.' Allah will say: ' O son of Adam, what is the thing that will stop your request? Will you be satisfied if I grant you life and another same one? 'The one will say: ' O Allah, do you mock at me and You are the God of all people? 'Ibn Masoud laughed and wondered : ' do you wonder why I am laughing ?' They said : ' Why were you laughing ?' He said that he did the same thing the Prophet did when they asked the Prophet : ' Why do laugh ?' The Prophet answered : ' Because of Allah's Laughing when that one said :' do you mock at me and You are the God of all people? ' Allah will say : ' I do not mock at you , but I am able to do whatever I want . [/englishtext]
