[Golden Pieces of Advice, The Best Ever Uttered Wisdom]
Imam Ali ( May God honor his face) says: "Be aware of a (the) noble person when you insult him/her and be cautious of an (the) ignoble person when you kindly treat him/her. Moreover, you need to beware a (the) wise person when you corner (embarrass, besiege) him/her. Likewise, you have to be careful of a (the) stupid (clumsy) person when you make fun of him/her and you must be on your guard against a merciless person when you keep company with. I had experienced all good things but I didn't find a thing better than being well (healthy). In addition, I had experienced all types of hardships and I didn't find a thing bitterer than being in need for others. Moreover, I had suffered burdens (as heavy as stone and iron) but these were lighter (more enjoyable) than being indebted to others. So, make sure, dear one, that life is of two phases - one to enjoy and the other to suffer. Thus, if your life is prosperous, you needn't be arrogant (haughty), and if it is stressed, you have to be patient for it is sure that both phases will come to an end.
