This type of reading is usually used when it is unnecessary to examine the text thoroughly , we just pass our eyes over headlines , titles, topic sentences and summarise.
we look for the main idea of a passage.
this type of reading is effevctive in improving hte students ability of getting information within a limited period of time.

scaning means looking through a text for specific items of information such as a date , a number or a place. It is also used when reading a newspaper to find , for examplw , what time a TV programme is on.
As well as it ia quick overview oa a passage for the sake of getting specific information.
This is an activity involving reading for details. The aim of intensiv reading is to arrive at a profound and detailed understanding of the text , not only of what it means , but also of how the meaning is produced.

The ways of conveying the meaning of award ,such as
A-visual techniques:
These techniques include blackboard drawing,wallcharts,photographs,flash cards,and maps.These techniquesare very useful to conveying the meaningof concreteitems such as the objects in the classroom.
B-verbal techniques
When dealing with abstract items of vocabulary ,verbal techniques are very useful such as:
-use of synonyms and definitions
-use of cotexts:texts,anecdotes,and verses
-use of antonyms and contrasts

C-The use of a dictionary
D- Translation
