Phrasal verb What are phrasal verbs? A phrasal verb is a verb plus a preposition or adverb which creates a meaning different from the original verb. A. Add up: make sense Ask out: invite on a date Add up: calculate a sum Ask over: invite to one's home B. Bumped into: to meet accidentally Brush: to improve Born out: fulfilled Blow up: burst Back up: give support Bear on: have to do with Bear with be patient Blow in: visit unexpectedly Blow over: pass without creating a problem Break in: interrupt Break up: end a relationship Bring around: change someone's mind, convince someone Bring on: cause something C. Phrasal verbs and phrasal prepositional verbs
These are the most frequently used slang phrasal verbs in U.S.A: He sucked me in. (استغلتي (شفطني She always sucks up to her professors. (تتملق ل (تشحف You sucked down 5 cups of tea. (شربت (تدولقت 1.She bambooozled me and skedaddled. بلفتني وشمعت الخيط 2. Down the hatch! ( على كرع (تقال تناول مشروب ما 3.
