A water bearer in China had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk from the stream to the House, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of it's own imperfection. And miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you. I have been able to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot said. The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw. So I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house? Moral: Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are, and look for the good in them. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape. |

زمردة, [englishtext] First Thank you for your topic, which is presented by a parable, then by your reasonable and real comment. I agree with you that every one of us can partially participate to fulfill his part in the community, whereas in the same time every one of us is not rewarded by perfection, we are not flawless creatures, though our simple or complicated achievements in our community denotes to good intentions. Go on. [/englishtext] |

Inside us there is something that has no name, that something is what we are
زمردة, [englishtext] I think that I understand what you say, though I do not know what exactly you mean by there is something inside us which has no name. Do you mean that inside our deep inner feelings or consciousness there is something which we all cannot recognize, cannot define? Cannot discover or uncover it? This thing which is our most mysterious side of our spiritual life is the leading part of our personality? Yeah if you mean this I agree with you, and I imagine how unknown powers are the leaders of our actions, reactions and backlashes. What do you think if I say there are unseen powers within us, or outside us which determine the stream of our everyday life? Though we do it by our hands, of course partially, and the remains of these achievements are done by those unseen powers. Yeah maybe these powers are fate, which is not only our fate, _ I mean the fate of every one alone, but for example, my fate with yours, or destiny _ destiny_, coincidence. Yeah your destiny will affect on you and on me, and my destiny will affect on me and on you, and so on. Our accomplishments based on our imperfect occupations, but the others have a role in these achievements, so when we lack a thing, it might be available in someone else, and then the result's effects will be perfect in someway and useful in another. So I, you, and we, are the sources of every perfect achievements in this damned place. Back to the thing which is inside us, which I call the subconscious side, I think that the human beings' achievement in any section in this life, are but only the brain child of this unknown side. So the things which we feel and know are either minor, or superficial stuff, and it is only a surface to show our civil actions. In the end it is just a viewpoint no less no more. [/englishtext] |
