Born in Westminster, educate at Westminster school under Camden, join Henslowe's company of players. -He killed a fellow player in duel, become a Catholic In prison, but later recanted. His work:-Volpone(1606) -The Silent Woman(1609) -The alchemist(1601) -Bartholomew Fair(1614) -The Devil in his Ass(1616) -Come leave the loathed stage(1632) Song to Celia DRINK to me only with thine eyes And I will pledge with mine; ………………………………………………….. ………………………………………………….. Since when it grows, and smells, I swear, Not of itself but thee Word's Explanation: Pledge: drink a toast Jove: Jupiter Sup: drink in small amounts Late: recently Wreath: garland Song to Celia COME, my Celia, let us prove ……………………………………………. ……………………………………………… These have crimes accounted been. Word's Explanation: The sports of love: joys and fruits of love. Time will not be ours for ever: the poet says that when they grow old , time will be un controllable. Suns: the sun of every day Defer: postpone and hide our feelings. Fame: dignity Rumour: nonsensical talking of people about our live Sin: crime Accounted: considered as sins and therefore deserve punishment. I'm sorry coz I have no explanation for those two poem.[/english] |

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله السلام عليكم نظرا لضيق الوقت سأكتفي بذكر أسماء الشعراء وقصائدهم التي تمت مناقشتها وتم تقريرها من قبل دكتور المادة في المحاضرة الأخيرة ملاحظة: الرقم الذي يسبق اسم الشاعر يدل على رقم المحاضرة والرمز الحرفي يدل على القصيدة 7-John Donne(1572-1631) a-The Good Morrow b-The Flea c-A vindication 8-Robert Herrick(1591-1674) a-To the Virgins 9-Richard Lovelace(1618-1658) a-To Lucasta b-To Althea from Prison 10-John Milton(1608-1674) a-On His Blindness 1-80 علامة أسئلة مؤتمتة 2-20 علامة موضوع(سؤال نظري) |
