[englishtext]Hi everybody, I would like to draw your attention to some points that may help you
in the exam :

1- Concerning the passive voice : Only transitive verbs are used in the passive
e.g. : A strange thing happened yesterday (no change) coz the verb (happen) is
intransitive

The by-phrase is used only if the information is important e.g. :
Shakespeare wrote that play it becomes : That play was written by Shakespeare
so we put the subject because it is imp. information

2- The definite article ( The )
Beef is a kind of meat (in general) so we shouldn't put the

و لكن عندما نحدد نقول : The beef we had for dinner last night was excellent

3- بمعنى الجمع (You have to differintiate between everyone (one word)
and every one ( two words ) بمعنى كل واحد

Every one is an expression of quantity and it is followed by (of) e.g
Every one of the members came

While everyone is an indifinite pronoun and it isn't followed by (of) e.g.
Everyone has his own idea

4- Punctuating Adjective Clauses
The man who is wearing jacket is my brother . We don't use commas coz the adjective clause is necessary to identify which man is meant

The man , who is wearing jacket, is my brother . We use commas coz it is
unnecessary information
