رح ابدأ بالوحدة الأولى وتابع على حسب قدرتي ووقتي .. وانشالله بقدر نزل كل اللي كتبناه .
أول شي رح احكي شوي عن هي المقاطع اللي أخدناها ، هيي بالمجمل عبارة عن إما لمحة عن الكاتب ، أو أسلوب الكتابة ، أواللغة المستخدمة ، أو لمحة تاريخية عن الرواية او المسرحية ، أو تحليل عام للعمل . وبرأيي مع قرائتهن بهدوء وبشوية تروّي على عدة مرات رح يبينو اديش بسيط مضمونهن وسهل حفظهن ( و بالمناسبة ، واحد من الاسئلة بالامتحان رح يكون منهن وعليه عشرين علامة ) .
Unit One
Augustan Age :
-This refers to the literature and art of the restoration and early 18th century .
-It denotes a period of literary excellence , and it refers back to the classical writing during the reign of the Latin poets of the Golden Age : Virgil , Horace , and Ovid .
-It affects the writings of authors like John Dryden and Alexander Pope .
-There were several literary concerns , especially in verse , the development of an elegant well-turned style , the pursuit of fluency , precision of expression and a dislike of slang , and the cultivation of good test and the refinement of manner .
Stanza :A group of lines in verse iambic .
Pentameter
: a common measure in English poetry .
*John Dryden in “ Ode “ uses a classical stanzaic verse form ; he greatly depends on verbal music achieved by the use of usual techniques of repetition.
*Alexander Pope uses the heroic couplet to be his verse unit . It consists of two rhyming lines of iambic pentameter .
* Both of them share the use of classical allusion .
• Assonance : a similarity in the sound of words , especially the vowels of words . (born – warm ).
•Iambic pentameter : a common measure in English poetry , each line consists of five iambic feet .
•Iamb : a measure of poetry consisting of one weak beat followed by another strong one
