What is the figure of speech here? Share us

Sun Oct 17, 2010 2:54 am

:mrgreen: I know its easy  *hh  but I don't want to have all the shawrma here  :mrgreen:

I think that there is some thing difficult in these lines just because that the first thing that may come to our minds is "paradox", while deep in our hearts we know there is no thing paradoxical  8)

and as I see we have only one figure of speech right here:  :mrgreen:
Its Oxymoron  :mrgreen:
as it is a compressed paradox :wink:  where contradictory terms appear side by side :mrgreen:

Am I right ? *sla

Its Oxymoron

Right  :mrgreen:
But don't you think that you knew the answer because of my hints?  :mrgreen:

Yes! you deserve a variety of gifts, but only if you knew the answers of the following task  8)

What is/are the figure(s) of speech here?

And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamplight o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted- nevermore!
