Hello every body Let's return to this topic and try to improve our grammar I'll post a new exercise now about Passive Voice and I want to know who will solve all of these sentences correctly :

Transform the following sentences into passive voice :

1- The lady may sell the house.
2- Someone wrote the letter very badly.
3- Sameer is taking the books.
4- The police had caught the thieves.
5- The boys will have taken the exam by ten o'clock.
6- He spoke the words quietly.
7- People say this forest is more than a hundred years old.
8- Who saw her in the market yesterday?
9- She invited us to dinner in the gallery this morning.
10- Has anyone taught you English before you came here?

The exam will have been taken by the boys at ten o`clock

The words were spoken by him quietly

Citer:

I don`t think that we can change it :roll:

8- Who saw her in the market yesterday?

By whom she was seen yesterday in the market ?

Citer:

9- She invented us to dinner in the gallery this morning.

invented I think that it should be invited
We were invited to dinner in the gallery this morning

I don't know .... maybe there is no passive for this sentence

Here I think there are two answers because we have two objects( direct and indirect)
We were invited to dinner in the gallery this morning by her
The dinner was invited to in the gallery this morning by her

Have you been taught English before you came here?

I think that I am with Arwa's answers
and in number 7 I think it should be:

Citer:

7- People say this forest is more than a hundred years old.

" This forest is more than a hundred years old" is said by people
and I mean here this statment is said by people....

OK I just want to mention one thing :
In sentences like :

Citer:

2- Someone wrote the letter very badly.

The letter was written very badly by someone

It's not important to say "by someone" because it's not identified :wink:

I think that it should be invited

بالنسبة للتام المستمر لا يوجد لديها صيغ تحويل من المبني للمعلوم إلى المبني للمجهول

By the way as for the sentence number 7 I haven't noticed the correct answer yet :wink:

للوهلة الأولى كمان أنا فكرتا هيك بس بعدين رجعت للمصادر وتأكدت انو لا يوجد لها صيغ مبني للمجهول
