Your quotes and Abeer's ones are amazing   and I'm sill a big fan of this topic though I don't participate a lot

Thank you for your nice words. I'm sorry coz I didn't submit my post till now. But you know, I'm busy these days preparing for my presentations and final papers. May Allah be with me.

Quote:
maybe this is the purpose of poetry to feel it more than to understand it

That's it.  *good  The most important thing is feeling the poem. Understanding the poem is subordinated to feeling it. This is at least my opinion.

Quote:
“Silence is as deep as eternity; speech, shallow as time.”

Right. You reminded me with two nice quotes. They were submitted in this topic; one quoted by Abeer and the other by Ala' 8)
Abeer's quote was:
“See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence...we need silence to be able to touch souls.” by Mother Teresa

My quote was:
“Music and silence combine strongly because music is done with silence, and silence is full of music.”

Nice quotes, aren't they?

Thank you Safa for your participation.  *1

Today I want to add a nice poem by Clare; it's entitled as "Love Lives Beyond The Tomb ":

Love lives beyond the tomb,
And earth, which fades like dew!
I love the fond,
The faithful, and the true.

Love lives in sleep:
'Tis happiness of healthy dreams:
Eve's dews may weep,
But love delightful seems.

'Tis seen in flowers,
And in the morning's pearly dew;
In earth's green hours,
And in the heaven's eternal blue.

'Tis heard in Spring
When light and sunbeams, warm and kind,
On angel's wing
Bring love and music to the mind.

And where's the voice,
So young, so beautiful, and sweet
As Nature's choice,
Where Spring and lovers meet?

Love lives beyond the tomb,
And earth, which fades like dew!
I love the fond,
The faithful, and the true.

"Forget thee?" Bid the forest-birds forget their sweetest tune;
"Forget thee?" Bid the sea forget to swell beneath the moon;
Bid the thirsty flowers forget to drink the eve's refreshing dew;
Thyself forget thine own "dear land," and its "mountains wild and blue."
Forget each old familiar face, each long remember'd spot-
When these things are forgot by thee. then thou shalt be forgot !

One of the poems that I truly admire, the most perfect lines I've ever read, It sounds like… Life.

If you but knew
How all my days seemed filled with dreams of you,
How sometimes in the silent nights
Your eyes thrill through me with their tender light,
How oft I hear your voice when others speak,
How you 'mid other forms I seek-
Oh, love more real than though such dreams were true
If you but knew

Could you but guess
How you alone make all my happiness,
How I am more than willing for your sake
To stand alone, give all and nothing take,
Nor chafe to think you bound while I am free,
Quite free, till death, to love you silently,
Could you but guess

Could you but learn
How when you doubt my truth I sadly yearn
To till you all, to stand for one brief space
Un fettered, soul to soul, as face to face,
To crown you King till life shall end,
My lover and likewise my truest fried,
Would you love me, dearest, as fondly in return,
Could you but learn?

Hi there  *Hi
I do miss participating in this great topic  *1

Ala Al-Ibrahim,
Quote:
I hope that you are enjoying reading my posts. I always try to post the best. I choose carefully any quotation because I do not want to post normal quotes.

Absolutely  8)
Quote:
"Life is these walls, and fate is the shout that each of us makes," said the shepherd.  "What we do will be raised to His heart, and will be returned to us in the same form. "God acts as the echo of our own deeds."

*good So nic and true simile

Actually, all the previous quotes are nice especially the last one. Thank you very much indeed.

Safa alaasi,
Happy to see you around  *1
الملاك,

Here is my quote for today:

I wrote your name twice because you posted two quotations, each one is more beautiful than the other. *sla  *1  *ورود    :D

Oh my God, how I love this kind of poetry! *sla  *sla  *sla
The speaker offers some 'impossible' things only to conclude that it is impossible to forget the addressee!!! Can the birds of the forest forget their nice songs? Of course not. The speaker gives very beautiful images maybe because his/her lover is as beautiful as these images! The singing of the birds, the tide of the sea, the image of the moon-sea, the flowers, the mountains....etc., all these are from nature.
GREAT Al-Malaak, REALLY VERY GREAT!! You and Moultrie are both great!  *1  *1

I's really really really One of the loveliest poems I've ever read. No, it is not one of them, it IS the tenderest at all. I enjoyed reading each line, each word,  no each letter!!! *sla
It does not sound like life, It IS life itself.  :P
Al-Malaak, I'm writing these words only to express how this poem affected me. I usually memorize the nice poems; I'm definitely going to learn it by heart. *sla

I think now it is known *sla  It is you who wrote it.
I really mean it; since we knew it through you then it is you who wrote it in our minds. We owe you very much.
The speaker of the poem is a lady. I knew this piece of information through one line:

To crown you king, my king, till life shall end

She says at the beginning of the poem:
Quote:
How oft I hear your voice when others speak,

This is of course the result of love. She can distinguish his voice through many voices. She can do this only because her soul is connected to his. She mentions "soul to soul" later in the poem. That's very nice.
Quote:
How you 'mid other forms I seek-

This is a great line. She sees him in everything, in all directions, everywhere. She can't even forget him for just a moment. Nice!! *sla
Quote:
How I am more than willing for your sake
To stand alone, give all and nothing take

This is the condition of true love: To give everything, without waiting to receive anything in return. I think Shaw once said, "You know that you are in true love when you start behaving against your OWN benefits!"

الملاك
What you've quoted is really marvelous. Please always submit what you think is nice. Thanks for participating with us, waiting for more and more!  *1

عبير

Welcome sister!
Quote:
You were not born a winner, and you were not born a loser. You are what you make yourself be.

That's very very true. God is Just. God gave all humans the same abilities. He gave them the choice to choose as well. If some people were born as winners, then we are denying the very fact that God is Just; and this isn't true. So your statement is true.  *good

I'm going to quote from King Lear :

Have more than thou showest,
Speak less than thou knowest,
Lend less than thou owest,
Ride more than thou goest,
Learn more than thou trowest,
Set less than thou throwest,
.....

All paths lead to you

All paths lead to you
where ever I stray
You are the evening star
At the end of the day

All paths lead to you
Hill-top or low
You are the white birch
In the sun's glow

All paths lead to you
where ever I roam
You are the Lark-song
Calling me home!

الملاك,

Welcome again   *1 I'm so happy to read your marvelous quotes here.
Quote:

I felt that it's like a wise saying

At first the topic was directed to literary quotes only, but then we started to quote whatever we find nice to quote. :P

Quote:
is it the reason why we love this poem or that magical music I hear within me while reading "Forget thee?"  slowly?

We like the poem for both reasons :P
I like it for its nice meaning, and I love it too because it moves something inside me. Musicality makes poetry differ from other kinds of writing. We love poetry for its musicality at first, then we like it for the other reasons. :P

Quote:
But I cant understand those who study or deal with mathmatics or chemstry for instant... how could they learn any thing by heart. ???

I like literature for this very reason of course. Our field is THE BEST. I adore it. I entered this field because I love it. Thank God! :P

How nice this poem is!! It is very nice indeed. Do you know? I felt that it resembles the previous poem in a way or another. I think it is nothing but an extended explanation of a line from the previous poem:

How you 'mid other forms I seek-

Fantastic!  *ورود  *1

Today I am also going to submit a nice poem. It is called  "Language of Love":

Oh honey.. don't use the words
For they have lots of meanings

Chatter me by your eyes
I will not ever miss a meaning

We have reached mutual understanding
We are on the top
, no need for landing

The Whisper of your heart is so clear
It needs no ears to be heard
Only need your hands to pull me near
So that I can be able to hear
Gentle whispers of your loving beats

Put my head on your shoulder
Put my hand near your heart
Let us have our private speech to start

Every beat is a different word
Every look conveys different thought
Talk to me darling I long to hear
Your heart's language is so sheer.

Yeah dear in this topic we quote any special quote whether it is a literary quote; taken from any work we like or a wise saying/quotation
So as Ala' told you

Ala Al-Ibrahim,

What a tender poem!  :D  It is really so nice and has a lovely rhyme thanks a lot brother  *1

Now here is my new quote
"But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls."
Kahlil Gibran

Your new colour is also nice   I like blue very much

Quote:
let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls

We are speaking about Gibran here, so it is expected to see the word "soul" here. I like this word, and Gibran knows well how to use it. *sla
Thank you sister Abeer for quoting from Gibran. I am expecting more quotations from you

Now I'm going to quote from Coelho again:

The sculptor, Michelangelo, was once asked how it was that he could create such beautiful works. "It's very simple," he answered. "When I look at a block of marble, I see the sculpture inside it.  All I have to do is remove what doesn't belong."
The master says: "There is a work of art each of us was destined to create. That is the central point of our life, and -- no matter how we try to deceive ourselves -- we know how important it is to our happiness.  Usually, that work of art is covered by years of fears, guilt and indecision.  But, if we decide to remove those things that do not belong, if we have no doubt as to our capability, we are capable of going forward with the mission that is our destiny.  That is the only way to live with honor."
